Registration for the 5k run/walk is $35, free for seniors 80 and over and kids 5 and under, and $20 for youth ages 6 to 14. T-shirts will be provided for the first 100 registrants. Trophies will be given for the top overall male and female runners, and age-group awards will be given out in 10-year increments through age 75+. Youth participants will receive a medal.
The post-race celebration will include snacks, drinks, music and an award ceremony.
Every participant will be given a $10 ACAA Cash Certificate, redeemable exclusively at the 7th Annual Asian Food and Culture Festival, held 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9 at Canalside (44 Prime St.).
The festival is a family-friendly and free event celebrating Asian heritage and will feature live performances, cultural exhibits showcasing traditional arts, crafts and customs, and interactive activities. Kids activities and games will also be available.
