CORTLAND, NY – The Buffalo State men's and women's outdoor track & field team concluded SUNYAC Championships today as Nyla Wilson-Epps (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry) earned her first career SUNYAC Championship in the discus throw while Natalia Sawyer (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) earned her third title in the 400-meter hurdles. As a team, the Bengal men finished third overall and the women took home fifth.

Sawyer cruised for the win in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.53, nearly four seconds ahead of the next closest runner.
Wilson-Epps broke her own record in the discus throw at 42.50 meters to win the event. Her mark was over three meters farther than the next best thrower. She later finished fifth in the shot put.
Noah Holden (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) finished fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Sidney Morris (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.41.
Heidi House (Sanborn, NY/Starpoint) took home third in the high jump with Madison MacNeill (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca West) finishing sixth.
Ricky Curiel (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) continued his strong meet as he crossed the line third in the 5,000-meter with a time of 15:35.07.
Ryan Spoto (Penfield, NY/Penfield) was third in the shot put at 15.96 meters while Matthew Thompson (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) was seventh at 14.49 meters.
Those Bengals that have qualified will now prep for AARTFC Regionals hosted by Ursinus from May 13-14.
