BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Athletics Department is accepting nominations for its 2026-27 Athletics Hall of Fame class, which will become the fifth class inducted into one of the university's highest athletic honors.
As the Saints look ahead to recognizing the next group of distinguished student-athletes, coaches, administrators, teams, and contributors, D'Youville Athletics is taking a look back at members of previous Hall of Fame classes whose accomplishments helped shape the department's rich history.
The first spotlight shines on 2024-25 Hall of Fame inductee Danielle Kabel (Gehen), one of the most accomplished players in the history of the D'Youville women's soccer program.
A four-year standout for the Saints from 2010-13, Kabel established herself as one of the premier offensive players to ever wear the blue and white. Her remarkable career earned her four Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Conference selections, including three First Team honors. Following her senior season, Kabel was recognized as the 2011-12 D'Youville Female Athlete of the Year and was also named the team's Most Valuable Player.

Kabel's name continues to dominate the D'Youville women's soccer record book.
She remains the program's all-time leader in career goals (48), assists (28), and points (124). Her offensive dominance also includes the single-season records for goals (16) and points (41), while her four-assist performance against Penn State Beaver during the 2011 season still stands as the program's single-game record.
Beyond the individual accolades, Kabel played a significant role in one of the most successful stretches in program history. During her four seasons, the Saints qualified for the AMCC Championship Tournament every year, including appearances in the conference semifinals during her junior and senior campaigns.
Collectively, D'Youville posted an overall record of 41-26-5 and a 22-12-2 mark in conference play during Kabel's career, helping establish a winning culture that continues to influence the program today.
Kabel graduated from D'Youville in the spring of 2014 with a degree in education, leaving behind a legacy defined not only by records and awards, but by her impact on the continued growth of Saints women's soccer.
