Canisius men's basketball gets first 2020 commit in Asa Beyah

Asa Beyah, a 6-foot-3-inch guard from Cheshire Academy in Connecticut, has verbally committed to play college basketball at Canisius College.

Cheshire Academy announced Beyah's commitment Tuesday on Twitter.

Beyah is the first player to commit to the Golden Griffin's 2020 recruiting class. Beyah is originally from Utica, and attended Proctor High School, where he played basketball and football.

Per NCAA rules, college coaches cannot comment on recruits until after receipt of a national letter of intent.
