Josh Allen may have been the third quarterback taken in the draft, but he's the No.1 rookie QB so far this season in jersey sales.
According to Dicks Sporting Goods, which compiles a list of its top selling jerseys, Allen's No. 17 Buffalo Bills jersey has been the national retailer's 10th-best selling NFL jersey so far this season.
Among rookies, Allen ranks second to New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, who was selected second overall. Browns QB Baker Mayfield (first overall) ranks third in rookie jersey sales while New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (third overall) doesn't rank in the top 10.
The store's three top-selling jerseys so far this year belong to Barkley, Eagles QB Carson Wentz and Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot.
Bills player spotlight: At defensive tackle, the player spotlight was put on rookie Harrison Phillips, who was disappointed to fall to the third round of the draft until he learned he was going to play alongside Kyle Williams. “There's some amazing players in this league, but a five-time Pro Bowler, a 13-year vet to model yourself after is almost more than you could have asked for,” Phillips said. “So I'm very happy with how the cards dealt, and I'm eager to learn."
