Miss Bennet Christmas Party at Pemberley

Rich with holiday cheer and humor, Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon invites audiences to revel in a Christmas celebration at the home of the newly wed Mr. and Mrs. Darcy at the grand Pemberley estate. This imagined sequel to Pride & Prejudice, opening December 7th at Shea’s 710 Theatre, gives the Bennets’ bookish middle sister Mary, often overshadowed by her two charming older sisters and her two silly younger sisters, the chance to take center stage. Could it be Mary’s turn for recognition and romance? Bright with elegant Regency era costuming and full of clever nods to Austen’s classic, including appearances by favorite characters from the original, this production is a perfect holiday gift for the Austen aficionado and newcomer alike, encouraging us to unwrap the hidden treasures dwelling within the most unsuspecting of characters.

In honor of the holiday season, and Ms. Austen’s 243rd birthday, RLTP will host two Sunday tea events prior to the Sunday matinee performances on December 9th and 16th at 12:30pm. The afternoon tea will take place in the lobby of Shea’s 710 Theatre; tickets are $20 and are available at 710theatre.org or at the Shea’s box office.

As part of its Off Book: A Road Less Traveled Discussion Series program, RLTP will also offer a brief discussion following the Sunday matinee performances, moderated by RLTP Education Coordinator Michelle Holden and featuring director Katie Mallinson and Pemberley cast member, Brittany Bassett (Lydia Wickham).  “Pemberley Post-show” is free-to-attend.

Show Info: Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley features Todd Benzin, Amy Feder, Alexandria Watts, Darryl Semira, Rosa Fernandez, Brittany Bassett, Nick Stevens, and Tracy Snyder under the direction of RLTP Ensemble Member, Katie Mallinson.

Produced by Road Less Traveled Productions, the play will run Friday December 7 – Saturday, December 22 at Shea’s 710 Theatre.  Tickets are $44 and available online at 710theatre.org or Shea’s box office at 650 Main Street (Monday – Friday 10am - 5pm & Saturday 10am - 2pm).
