How Does CAR T-Cell Therapy Work?

We’re entering a hopeful new era with the development of immunotherapies, which use the power of your own immune system to fight cancer. Immunotherapies can produce long-term remissions and are generally associated with side effects that are milder than those caused by chemotherapy. Roswell Park offers an FDA-approved CAR T-cell therapy called Yescarta™ for adult patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), as well as clinical trials of other CAR T-cell therapies and advanced T-cell receptor (TCR) therapies developed right here to treat virtually any type of cancer.
