Find plenty of fun at Explore & More’s citywide scavenger hunt

Because grownups deserve to have fun too, Explore & More – The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children’s Museum is once again bringing their app-based Incredible Hunt adventure to Buffalo on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The third-annual event will illuminate all the cool things there are to do and see around Buffalo–and lead to plenty of laughs.

Clues for this adult-only scavenger hunt can take the shape of Buffalo-related trivia, selfies at specific landmarks, and snapping shots of key props around town. All clues will be divided into different zones within a seven-mile radius of the museum, with clues from zones further out worth more than those from zones closer to the Explore & More starting point (10 Main St., Buffalo).

Accessible only by car, participants have 90 minutes to complete the hunt, but organizers are quick to point out that it’s not a race. “It’s all about skill, strategy, and having a nimble and knowledgable team to split up duties,” said Jeannine Weber Kahabka, Director of Marketing & Public Relations at Explore & More. “The trick is prioritizing. Do you want to go for the higher-point zones or check off more by hitting the ones nearby?”

Registration/team strategizing begins at 5 p.m. with the clues released at 6 p.m. sharp. The fun continues after the Hunt with the Finish Line Party at Explore & More, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Free to all participants, it will feature food from Fat Bob’s, Chef’s and Liberty Hound, along with wine from Winkler & Samuels, and desserts from some Buffalo favorites including Dessert Deli, Muscoreils Fine Desserts, Fairy Cakes, and Romano’s Italian Bakery.  There will be a DJ and activities throughout the museum and of course poring over pictures from everyone’s comical adventures.

Awards will also be given out at the after-party, with prizes that include a Sabres suite  for up to 15 people, happy hour at Patina 250 for ten, an overnight stay downtown and a family four pass to Explore & More.

The cost per vehicle for the Incredible Hunt is $300, with up to five players per car. Register online before spots sell out. The Incredible Hunt which is once again presented by HUNT Real Estate with additional support from Rich Products and Savarino Companies.

Committed to play at any age, Explore & More also hosts the popular Grown Up’s Night of Play adults only events at the museum, featuring four floors of activities, food, drinks and live music. The next Grown Up’s Night of Play is scheduled for Nov. 15 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
