CDPAP Helps Home Care Consumers Take Control of Their Care. CDPAP Department of Edison HHC helps Home Care Consumers Manage Their CDPAP Services.

The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a Medicaid program that allows people who need home care to choose a caregiver of their choice – including most family members and friends. Through CDPAP, these caregivers get paid to care for their loved ones.

CDPAP affords home care consumers the opportunity to take control of their home care, and not rely on agency supplied home health aides (HHAs) or personal care aides (PCAs). Home care consumers recruit, hire, and train their own caregivers. A common concern for people that need care is having a stranger come to their home to care for them. This program allows consumers the opportunity to receive the care that they need from some of the closest people in their lives.

Edison Home Health Care (“Edison”) is a leading home care provider in New York. CDPAP Department of Edison HHC is a division of Edison that provides Fiscal Intermediary (FI) services for the CDPAP program. Edison is committed to helping guide CDPAP consumers through all aspects of CDPAP. From understanding eligibility and the application process, to assistance with scheduling assessments and obtaining necessary paperwork, Edison makes sure to be there for their clients every step of the way.

CDPAP Department of Edison HHC has developed a website dedicated to the CDPAP program, and has published what they call the Ultimate Guide to the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP).
