LOCKPORT – State and local officials gathered Thursday to cut the ribbon on the new Lockport Cave ticket and visitor center on Gooding Street.The $100,000 building opened this season to sell tickets to the underground boat ride, which is open daily until Columbus Day, and to offer a deck overlooking the Erie Canal.

The Niagara Aerospace Museum will reopen at 11 a.m. Saturday in a new location at Niagara Falls International Airport. It has been closed to the public for almost two years.The museum’s collection was last displayed in the First Niagara Center after the museum lost its old lease in Niagara Falls.It will now take over an empty terminal at the airport.

LOCKPORT - Tonight’s free Puddle of Mudd concert as part of the Canal Concert Series has been canceled, the series announced on its website Thursday.The cancellation occurred because of a band member’s illness, Mayor Michael Tucker said on his Facebook page. .A makeup concert date in Lockport has been set for Aug. 23, with the performer to be announced.
