Letter: Life-saving plasma donors needed now, more than ever

  • 0

Plasma is the straw-colored liquid portion of our blood and is used to make medicines that treat rare, chronic conditions like immune deficiency, auto-immune diseases and hemophilia. Plasma derived medicines are also used to treat acute conditions such as hepatitis, animal bites and trauma victims.

During this critical time plasma donors are needed now more than ever. If you have recovered from Covid-19 your plasma may contain antibodies that are especially vital for the research and development of potential treatment options.

My employer, Prometic Plasma Resources in Amherst is calling all eligible adults to pay it forward by becoming a plasma donor. Donors are compensated for their time after each donation and can donate twice per week.

Will you consider making a difference today? For donor eligibility requirements or to schedule an appointment call our center at 888-477-7872 or visit us at plasma.prometic.com. Someone’s life may depend on it.
