KLODA - Charlotte L. (nee Szczes)
Of Cheektowaga, NY, peacefully passed away on May 8th, 2020 in Peabody, MA. She was 84 years young. The daughter of the late John and Estelle (Wilczynski) Szczes, Charlotte was born March 5, 1936, baptized and raised in Niagara Falls, NY. She graduated from Stella Niagara and afterwards continued to pursue her musical talents. She was an accomplished singer and songwriter and she thrived on bringing joy to others through song, piano, and guitar. Charlotte's passion for singing led her to meeting her husband Donald and they married in 1960. The family soon grew from two to five and they set roots in Williamsville, NY. Charlotte knew how to love unconditionally and always enjoyed a good adventure. She was a devoted and supportive wife, raised three children with great kindness and care, and was happiest when family and friends were together and date nights at Shea's. She was a gifted homemaker, self-taught seamstress, award winning creative crafter, and avid walker. Charlotte's endearing spirit, energy, and love of people persevered as she aged. Charlotte is survived by her children, Michael Kloda and Tammy (Steven) Roberts; son-in-law, Thomas Schmitt; six grandchildren, Mikael, Alexis, Nicholas, Brittany, Nick, and Nate; one great-grandchild, Elijah; and her siblings, Thomas (Sara) Szczes, Barbara (John) Spiller. She is also survived by many other dear family and lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald Kloda; cherished daughter, Susanne (Kloda) Schmitt; and sisters, Cynthia (Szczes) Gniazdowski; and Shirley (Kloda) Snyder. Charlotte will be most dearly remembered for her beautiful soul, smile, and sparkle that she brought with her into every room. She will be deeply missed by many hearts. A private celebration of Charlotte's life will be held in Buffalo, NY at a later date.
