BOVA - Rudolph James "Rudy" On Sunday, November 29, 2020, Rudolph James "Rudy" Bova, loving father, brother and Papa, passed away. Rudy died peacefully in his sleep at home, with his family by his side. Born April 19, 1929 in Buffalo, NY, to James and Mary (Tomasulo) Bova. Rudy was a graduate of Seneca High School, where he studied tool and die making. Rudy and his young family moved to California, in 1957, where he worked hard at his trade and successfully ran two businesses. Upon the passing of his first wife, Rudy met and married the love of his life with whom he traveled the world until her passing in 2013. An extremely creative craftsman, Rudy built many things including furniture, a car and a boat. He loved music, art, family fishing trips and the Buffalo Bills. Most of all, Rudy dearly loved his family and friends. His gracious home was the site of many annual holiday gatherings, and so many cherished memories. Mr. Bova was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Judy Cerajewski; his second wife, Pat Bova; his sister, Rose Alaimo; and his son-in-law, James Garner; he was survived by his siblings, Bertha Shipton of North Tonawanda, NY; Dorothy Edwards of Moorpark, CA; and Joseph Bova (Barbara) of Syracuse, NY; his children, Gary Bova (Angela), Leslie Garner, Laurie Byerrum (Glen), and Jamie Bova; his step-children, Lyn Love (Jack) and Michael McClane; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who all loved him very much. A Memorial to celebrate the life of Rudolph James Bova, is being planned for early spring, at his home in Simi Valley, California.
