Niagara closed its regular season with a 4-2 victory over RIT on Wednesday night at Dwyer Arena and earned the right to host a first-round game in the Atlantic Hockey Association playoffs.
Luke Edgerton of the Purple Eagles scored the winner with 1:40 left in the third period. Ludwig Stenlund added an empty-net tally after Edgerton's tie-breaker.
The first period was scoreless. Noah Delmas scored the first of his two goals in the game at 0:52 of the second. He scored his second at 0:48 of the third to put Niagara back in front, 2-1, but Darren Brady tied it for RIT a little more than two minutes later.
Stenlund assisted on Edgerton's game-winner, one of his two assists in the game.
