Tonawanda names two firms as installers for its 'Solarize' campaign

The Tonawanda Town Board named Solar Liberty Energy and Solar by CIR as solar installers for its Solarize Tonawanda Campaign, which is designed to spur greater use of solar power with installation at discounted rates.

The Town of Tonawanda will also offer support to assure the selected companies are providing the best prices.

City of Tonawanda Mayor Rick Davis has said city residents will also be able to participate in this campaign.

The Solarize campaign is a component of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's Clean Energy Communities Program.

A launch event will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Town Hall. Community workshops will be  at 6 p.m. Aug. 31 in the DFK Pavilion in Lincoln Park and at 6:30 p.m. in the Phillip Sheridan Building, 3200 Elmwood Ave.
