The Buffalo News is taking a close look at six election districts in Erie County that display the same demographics that help predict presidential preferences nationwide.
One of the districts is Cheektowaga 43, which is just west of Union Road and just north of William Street. Nearly one in five voters in this district is 65 years old or older. That's the second highest concentration of that voter demographic in suburban Erie County.

There are 1,169 registered voters in the district. In 2012, 78 percent voted for Democrat Barack Obama while 20 percent voted for Republican candidate Mitt Romney. In 2008, 62 percent voted for Obama while 34 percent voted for Republican candidate John McCain.
