The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy History Museum is presenting the exhibit "Our Better Nature" at the Buffalo History Museum to celebrate the 150th anniversary of landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted's involvement in Buffalo.
The exhibition explains the need for urban parks in the late 19th century, and shows how Olmsted designed parks to ensure there would be green spaces for generations.
The exhibit will be open through January 2019.
“Frederick Law Olmsted’s work and vision shaped the character and identity of the city,” said Melissa Brown, the museum's executive director. “As we celebrate 150 years of our parks system and Olmsted’s design, we are thrilled to show our pride of being in an Olmsted landscape and support the conservancy as they educate the community about Olmsted’s vision.”
