A Williamsville woman was killed Friday afternoon in a two-car crash in Pendleton, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.
Melissa E. Maras, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene after her vehicle, traveling northbound on Campbell Boulevard, was struck by a southbound vehicle that had crossed the center line, according to a preliminary investigation by the sheriff's office.
The crash occurred on the two-lane road in front of the Wendelville Fire Company, 7340 Campbell Blvd., which is located just north of the Amherst/Pendleton border of Tonawanda Creek.
Deputies said they responded to a 911 call and found two heavily damaged vehicles at the scene.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was transported by Mercy Flight to the Erie County Medical Center for injuries that were not life-threatening.
The investigation into the crash by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Unit is continuing, officials said.
