SOUTH DAYTON – A 25-year-old South Dayton man was stopped Saturday night by State Police because of a non-working headlight but he ended up being jailed on allegations of probation violation. Police signaled Michael Ramirez II to pull over on Milestrip Road in the Town of Villenova. But instead he drove off and was followed to South Dayton where he was stopped on Oak Street. Upon getting out of his vehicle he ran but troopers finally caught him on Pine Street in Dayton.

When caught Ramirez was found to have some marijuana, police said. He was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and three counts of probation violation linked to earlier incidents, failure to comply with a police officer, being an unlicensed driver, having an uninspected motor vehicle, displaying a forged state inspection sticker and having no working head lights on his vehicle.

On the traffic infractions he was ordered to appear in South Dayton Village Court April 18, but he was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in Little Valley on the probation violation charges.
