Jamestown man arrested on multiple charges after larceny investigation

A Jamestown man is held in Chautauqua County Jail after his arrest on multiple charges following a larceny investigation, State Police in Jamestown reported.

Troopers arrested Michael Barringer, 44, on counts of third-degree possession of stolen property, third- and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.

Officers investigating thefts of jewelry, cash and documents from a home in Sherman identified Barringer as a suspect. He was located in Jamestown and arrested after a foot chase.

Troopers said they recovered stolen items, a bag with more than 12 grams of methamphetamine and bags containing more than 14 grams of heroin.
