A married couple from Hartland pleaded guilty Thursday to sexually abusing a girl for four years, starting in 2014 when she was 5 years old.

Robert C. Wood II, 57, and Elizabeth Wood, 31, admitted to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and will be sentenced Nov. 16. The pleas were entered during virtual appearances before Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon.

Assistant District Attorney Lisa M. Baehre said Sheldon told Robert Wood he will be sentenced to 25 years in prison, while Elizabeth Wood will serve 15 to 18 years.

Barry N. Covert represented Elizabeth Wood and George V.C. Muscato represented Robert Wood.

Elizabeth Wood's mother, Melinda A. Rich, 57, of Hartland, pleaded guilty in November 2018 to abusing the same girl and is serving 15 years in prison.

In January, Baehre had threatened to file more charges against the Woods pertaining to different victims, carrying possible life sentences.
