A former corrections officer was indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury on charges of enticing a 13-year-old girl, whom he met through social media, to have sex with him in August 2020.

Michael Regan, 39, of Williamsville, faces one count of enticement of a minor, three counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said Buffalo police told the FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force that Regan allegedly was having sexual conversations on Snapchat with the girl, starting in July 2020.

The girl allegedly sent Regan explicit photos of herself, and explicit photos of another girl allegedly were found on Regan's cellphone, prosecutors said. Regan called himself "Jason" and claimed at one point to be a Cheektowaga police officer, court papers said.

Regan was arrested in December, when a criminal complaint against him was unsealed in U.S. District Court, and was ordered held without bail.
