The “Make A Joyful Noise – Cantor Susan Wehle Memorial Concert” will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in Congregation Shir Shalom, 4660 Sheridan Drive, Amherst, featuring four area cantors, accompanists, three choirs and a hand bell ensemble.
As the fifth anniversary of the crash of Continental Flight 3407 approaches, the concert will honor the 51 victims of the tragic airplane accident on Feb. 12, 2009 in Clarence Center.
Susan Wehle, one of the victims, was cantor of Temple Beth Am at the time of the crash, and she previously served as cantorial soloist at Temple Sinai. Those two synagogues merged in 2012 to form Congregation Shir Shalom.
Tickets are $18 per person, and the proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross and other charitable funds.
