A Clarence man was charged with DWI Saturday after police said he struck and seriously injured a pedestrian on Harris Hill Road.

Michael Eddo, 50, was driving south on Harris Hill near Main Street, when he struck a 51-year-old male who was walking in his path, State Police reported.

The victim was transported to Erie County Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition in the Trauma Center, police said.

Eddo was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and transported to the State Police barracks in Clarence, where he provided a breath sample indicating a blood alcohol content of .19 percent, more than twice the legal limit.

Eddo was charged with vehicular assault and aggravated DWI, arraigned in Clarence Town Court and released with a pending court date.
