Buffalo police are investigating a criminal mischief complaint involving members of the SUNY Buffalo State football team.

Some windows at a home just off campus were damaged around 2:30 Sunday morning, according to a Buffalo police report.

More than a half-dozen individuals, believed to be football players, smashed at least four windows at a home on Rees Street, just off Forest Avenue near Grant Street, according to police department spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge. The police report states the players used a golf club to break the windows.

The case is under investigation and no charges have yet been filed, DeGeorge said.

College officials said Monday they are looking into the matter.

"We are aware of the complaint and the matter is under review," Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Jerry Boyes said in a written statement issued through a college spokesman.
