Alt Buffalo 107.7 radio director and host Nik Rivers let go in Entercom cuts

Nik Rivers

Nik Rivers is out at WLKK Alternative Buffalo 107.7.

Nik Rivers, the program director and afternoon host at WLKK-FM Alternative Buffalo 107.7, has been let go as part of Entercom Radio’s nationwide reductions in staff at its alternative and country stations.

Tim Holly, the market manager for several Entercom stations here, announced Rivers’ departure in a brief staff memo.

“I am sad to announce that Nik Rivers is no longer with Entercom Buffalo,” wrote Holly. “Nik and his team did a great job launching and nurturing Alt 107.7 and will be missed.”

Rivers had been doing the 2 to 7 p.m. shift at the station located at 107.7 FM. He has been at the alternative station for seven years.

Entercom reportedly has eliminated the jobs of more than 30 staffers at alternative and country stations across the country.

Rivers’ departure follows the recent exits of Paul Hamilton at WGR-AM and DJ Anthony at WKSE-FM in cost-cutting moves being made at Entercom stations.
