This week brings laughs and loves with a few Valentine’s Day comedy shows in Buffalo. Here’s what we have our eye on this weekend:
For those looking for last-minute Valentine’s Day ideas, comedian Steve Byrne begins his headlining weekend with a special show at 8 p.m. Feb. 14, and stand-up shows at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Feb. 15 and 16. A diverse performer who created and starred in TBS’s “Sullivan and Son” and appeared in films like “The Dilemma,” “Couples Retreat” and “Four Christmases,” Byrne’s fourth stand-up special was released in 2017. The University at Buffalo’s Center for the Arts also has a holiday event with the “My Funny Valentine” comedy show at 8 p.m. Feb. 14. The show will feature DC Young Fly, a comedian, actor and host of the “85 South Show” podcast. He will be joined by his podcast partners Chico Bean and Karlous Miller. The three also are cast members of MTV’s “Wild N Out” television series. Tickets for the show range from $55 to $35, including a VIP meet and greet preshow package. Info: ubcfa.org
Kleinhans Music Hall is asking audiences to “get r’ done” as Larry the Cable Guy returns to the area with shows at 4 and 7 p.m. Feb. 17. The blue-collar persona of comedian Daniel Whitney, Larry the Cable Guy rose to fame with big comedy tours and voicing the character Mater in the Disney/Pixar “Cars” franchise. Larry will be joined by comedian John Crist. Tickets are $57 and $37. Info: kleinhansbuffalo.org
