Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown is launching a new social media campaign, called “Ask Why I Wear a Mask.”
The aim of the campaign is to emphasize the importance of wearing protective face coverings to prevent community spread of the coronavirus, Brown said.
“With the arrival of warm temperatures, there has been an increase in residents being out in the community without masks. We must remain vigilant. Covid-19 continues to spread, and is still a very real danger to everyone in the City of Buffalo. We must wear masks and practice physical distancing so we can continue the gradual reopening of Buffalo and Western New York,” Brown said in a statement.
Those seeking to be part of the mayor's campaign should upload to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram a photo of themselves wearing a mask along with an explanation of why they are wearing protection, and use the hashtag #AskWhyIWearAMask.
