Two more senior citizens have died of the Covid-19 virus in Niagara County, increasing the county's death toll to 59, the county Health Department said Thursday.
The victims were two 83-year-old men, both with underlying health conditions in addition to the virus.
Thirty-four of the county's deaths have occurred in nursing homes, a figure the state Health Department has not altered this week.
However, hospitalizations are down in Niagara County. Fourteen county residents were hospitalized as of Thursday morning, down two from the figure for Monday through Wednesday, the county said.
County figures list 594 people as having recovered from the virus, while 254 are isolated at home. There were only three new positive cases Thursday, bringing the county's total to921 since the pandemic began.
