Niagara County offers 10,000 free face masks to businesses

Niagara County will try to aid the reopening of its local businesses by giving away more than 10,000 cloth face masks.

However, masks for employees of affected businesses must be reserved by filling out a form on the county Emergency Management Department website and emailing it to NCEM@niagaracounty.com.

The drive-through giveaway is set from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday outside the county Public Safety Training Facility, 5574 Niagara St. Extension, Lockport. That is next door to the County Jail.

The masks were obtained from the state Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services.

“These masks are also available to businesses that cannot yet open, but should already be putting their safety plans together,” said County Legislator Will Collins, who owns a construction company.

"No matter the phase of reopening your business falls into, it’s never too soon to begin planning and that includes making sure you have the necessary supplies like masks," Collins said.
