M&T Bank makes Fortune 500

M&T Bank was the only Buffalo-based firm to make the Fortune 500, an annual ranking of the nation's largest corporations whose revenues are publicly available.

The bank moved up 24 spots on the list from a year ago, to No. 438. Its ranking was based on annual revenues of $6.94 billion in 2019.

Some other firms with notable connections to the Buffalo Niagara region on the list:

Amazon.com: "sortation" center in Lancaster, No. 2.

Berkshire Hathaway: recently sold The Buffalo News, No. 6.

Ford Motor Co.: stamping plant in Hamburg, No. 12.

General Motors: plants in Tonawanda and Lockport, No. 18.

Marathon Petroleum: bought 33 Noco stores and a fuel terminal, No. 22.

Citigroup: financial services center in Getzville, No. 31.

Honeywell: Buffalo laboratory, No. 92

Northrop Grumman: Amherst operations, No. 96

Tesla: solar products plant in South Buffalo, No. 124.

Cummins Inc.: engine plant in Jamestown area, No. 132

DuPont: plant in Town of Tonawanda, No. 152.

General Mills: cereal plant in Buffalo, No. 192.

Corning Inc.: based in nearby Steuben County, No. 277.

Constellation Brands: headquartered in nearby Victor, No. 392

KeyCorp.: Northeast regional headquarters in Larkinville, No. 411.

In the expanded rankings, Moog Inc., based in East Aurora, was No. 800.
