Some of Buffalo's biggest festivals have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic this year, but that won't stop the Juneteenth Festival of Buffalo's 45th consecutive celebration.
Leaders will take the festival online instead with Free and Clear: The Evolution of Juneteenth.
Traditional festival activities such as Sankofa Days, which is a period of reflection about black culture, and the Maafa Memorial, which remembers the African Holocaust of enslavement, will take place from June 6 to June 21. A full schedule of activities and events is set for June 13 and June 14.
The event will be available on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Zoom and JuneteenthOfBuffalo.com
