Garden Walk Buffalo will not be the two-day walking tour that has attracted some 65,000 people in past years. Instead the event will present itself in a different way throughout July.
The Gardens Buffalo Niagara (GBN) board announced a new monthlong online experience. “Buffalo Garden Views: Sharing in July” will allow people to visit gardens virtually starting July 1. This is in response to current national and local social distancing restrictions amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
"Events are being planned for every day," said Jim Charlier, vice president of GBN who produced this video.
Ideas include reserving Mondays for "Gardeners'-Eye Views," featuring video backyard garden tours, for example. On Tuesdays, gardening professionals will share tips, via Live Zoom.
Visitors may be able to experience events such as front yard garden strolls in person.
Garden Walk Buffalo, called America's largest garden tour, was scheduled for July 25-26.
