Four more senior citizens in Niagara County have died from the Covid-19 virus, the county Health Department announced Friday.
The news brings the county's death toll from the virus to 13. All but two have been over age 60 and had underlying health conditions.
That was true for all four of the victims announced Friday: a 74-year-old woman and men aged 67, 73 and 88.
The county on Friday afternoon also announced 15 new cases of the virus, bringing its total since the pandemic began to 253, out of 1,112 Niagara County residents who have been tested.
By Friday afternoon, 24 Covid-19 patients were hospitalized, 94 were isolated at home and 122 were deemed to have recovered, according to Niagara County.
The newly reported cases included four each in Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda, two in Wheatfield and one each in the city and town of Lockport, Newfane, Pendleton and Royalton.
The most cases are in Niagara Falls, with 69; Wheatfield, 39; and North Tonawanda, 30.
