Niagara County adds nine to Covid-19 case count

Niagara County on Thursday added nine cases to its list of 238 confirmed cases of Covid-19 on its website.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in Niagara County remains at nine, according to the county Health Department's announcement. However, the state Health Department today said 10 Niagara County residents have died from the virus.

The county said 29 residents are hospitalized with Covid-19. Hospital officials said Thursday morning that eight of those are in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and one is in Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport.

Another 84 confirmed Covid-19 patients are isolated at home, the county said, while 116 have recovered.

Four of the nine new cases posted Thursday were in Niagara Falls, which now has 65 confirmed cases. Two new cases were reported in the Town of Lockport and one each in North Tonawanda, Newfane and the Town of Niagara.

According to state Health Department figures, 1,030 Covid-19 tests have been administered in Niagara County as of Wednesday.
