Four more deaths push pandemic toll in Erie County to 61

Four more people have died from Covid-19 in Erie County, County Executive Mark Poloncarz reported Sunday afternoon on Twitter, bringing the total number of deaths in the county to 61.

They were among 66 more confirmed cases of novel coronavirus among county residents, Poloncarz noted. In all, 1,624 cases have been reported in Erie County.

According to the county’s Department of Health website, there are currently 1,084 active cases of the disease and 479 people have recovered.

Buffalo has seen the most Covid-19 cases, with 606, according to Health Department statistics, followed by Amherst and Williamsville with 193. Cheektowaga has had 175.
