On a sunny Easter Sunday morning, Gov. Andrew Cuomo visited Pathways Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Niskayuna, near Schenectady, to express his gratitude to staff there for lending ventilators to hospitals downstate.
"When things are at their worst, people are at their best," Cuomo said.
He said wanted to personally thank the leaders and staff at the nursing home for the "incredibly beautiful gesture."
"We are all one family," he said, adding "their gesture was so beautiful and so kind and …. everything we aspire to be."
After his brief announcement, the governor looked in the nursing home's windows and repeatedly said thank you to those inside.
