Three more Niagara County residents, all senior citizens, have died from the Covid-19 virus, Public Health Director Daniel J. Stapleton said Thursday.
The deaths brought the county's death toll from the virus to four.
Stapleton said the victims were a 69-year-old man and a 90-year-old woman, both with underlying health conditions, and an 82-year-old woman without underlying health conditions.
Niagara County's first death, that of a 58-year-old man, occurred Monday and was reported Tuesday.
As of Thursday morning, Erie County had reported 46 Covid-19 deaths.
The latest disclosures came as the Niagara County Health Department updated its map with 11 more confirmed Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 166.
Niagara Falls added two more cases Thursday, bringing its county-leading total to 43. Wheatfield and the Town of Lockport also added two cases each. Wheatfield's total is now 31, and the Town of Lockport's is now 17.
North Tonawanda, the City of Lockport, Lewiston, Newfane and Hartland also added one case each Thursday.
The Health Department said 19 of the Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 81 are isolated at home and 62 have recovered.
As of Thursday, 156 people were officially in quarantine in Niagara County, while 158 have completed quarantines.
