A second transit police officer has tested positive for Covid-19, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority.
The officer, who was assigned to the aviation division at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, in Cheektowaga, was last on the job on Saturday, and had very limited contact with the public, said NFTA spokeswoman Helen Tederous.
The NFTA worked with the Erie County Health Department in its investigation.
The officer is self-quarantined at home and is recovering well, Tederous said.
This is the fifth confirmed case of Covid-19 at the NFTA, she added.
