Charter Communications, which owns cable and internet provider Spectrum, is looking to add 200 jobs at its Appletree Business Park location in Cheektowaga.
The company is looking for customer service representatives to support its cable and video on demand services. It has begun interviewing applicants virtually and over the phone.
"Our training and centers are all adhering to the latest CDC recommendations, including appropriate social distance spacing throughout training and placement," said Lara Pritchard, a Charter spokesperson.
The company also said that it will increase customer service workers' minimum wage from $15 per hour to $20 per hour over the next two years.
Field and customer operations employees will receive a $1.50 hourly increase retroactive to their annual merit raise, which happened in March. They'll receive another $1.50 raise in March 2021. By 2022, all hourly employees will make a minimum of $20 per hour, the company said.
