Erie County will be distributing Monday a shipment of personal protective equipment for medical personnel and first responders it has received from the state Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, County Executive Mark Poloncarz reported on Twitter Sunday night.
Poloncarz said in his tweet that half the masks, face shields, gowns and gloves will go to hospitals, 25% will be given to skilled nursing facilities, 15% to first responders and 10% to other medical providers.
Poloncarz did not indicate how much protective gear was sent by the state. He ended his tweet by thanking Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
