Bills quarterback Josh Allen adds $25K donation to coronavirus response

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will donate $25,000 to help fight the coronavirus outbreak in Western New York, a team spokesman confirmed.

Allen's donation will go to the same entities that will receive at least $1.2 million from Pegula Sports and Entertainment, in coordination with the Bills and Sabres team foundations. PSE announced Wednesday that it would provide financial assistance to local nonprofit agencies, to families at risk of going hungry and to first responders.

After a tweet from the Bills announced the donation, Allen tweeted, "Can I also contribute?"

Allen's donation was quickly arranged shortly thereafter.

The Pegulas did not say how the money would be divided, but said in a news release that they will contribute to new Western New York Covid-19 Community Response Fund, FeedMore WNY and support for first responders, hospital workers and nurses as well as badly needed supplies of protective and medical equipment.
