Three new Covid-19 cases in Erie County: 2 in Buffalo, 1 in Clarence

There are now 50 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Erie County, according to the county's new website that tracks confirmed cases, along with those who have recovered and deaths.

There are two new cases in Buffalo and one in Clarence.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz is holding an update via Facebook Live at 2 p.m.

Each new report of positive cases shouldn't be assumed to be a total, he said Friday.

"Look at the big picture," Poloncarz said. The 36 positive cases are just the people who exhibited symptoms and were able to get tested.

"We know there's probably hundreds, maybe thousands at this point," he said. "We are not going to be able to track the whereabouts of a lot of them. We will never know about a lot of them if they can't get tested in the first place."
