Officers were called back to a home in the 2100 block of Mount Hope Road on the Tuscarora Indian Reservation on March 15, two weeks after a home invasion there ended with the homeowner shot and one of the alleged intruders dead of a gunshot wound.
A neighbor reported hearing six gunshots – four that sounded like "semi-automatic" gunfire and two that sounded as though they came from a different weapon – shortly after 2 a.m. Deputies said they found four bronze shell casings at the end of the driveway to the home, apparently from a 9mm hand gun. No one was home at the time of the latest shooting.
The address was the scene of a home invasion early March 1 in which resident Galen Fisher, 55, was shot by three men who broke in, possibly in search of firearms to steal, investigators said. Christian F. Williams, 18, of Niagara Falls, died later of injuries sustained when he was shot by Fisher during the break-in, the Sheriff's Office said.
Two men face felony burglary and assault charges in connection with that incident. An investigation into the latest shooting is continuing.
