Up to $250 in Covid-19 relief available for some college students

Students attending five area private colleges are eligible for up to $250 in assistance in Covid-19 emergency relief funds.

SAGE Scholars, a private college preparation and funding organization, is pledging $100,000 in aid to students attending any of its more than 400 member colleges and universities. They include Canisius College, Daemen College, Hilbert College, Houghton College and St. Bonaventure University, according to the organization.

Students who want to apply for emergency relief funds should contact their school’s financial aid
office. SAGE Scholars will send funds directly to the schools, which they can pass along to students.

"I want this money to help as many students as possible, so that they can focus on taking classes remotely and doing their best to ensure their academic success when colleges and universities reopen," said company President James B. Johnston.
