Letter: Senators fail nation on impeachment trial

After watching the Senate trial of our most corrupt president in history, it became clear to me that the Republican controlled body had no intention of a guilty verdict, no matter what the evidence proved. In a country where subpoenas can be ignored and witnesses can be barred from testifying, the rule of law apparently no longer matters.

The trial was a disgrace to the American people. Those senators who voted for acquittal were only concerned for their own jobs and not the oath of office that they all recited. They should be ashamed of themselves, but when they are as corrupt as the president there is no shame.Eventually they will all have to answer to a much higher power than our president.
