An employee at Erie County Medical Center has tested positive for Covid-19, the hospital announced it learned Friday.
The employee isn't a clinician and was wearing a mask at work because of flu season, a news release from ECMC said.
The patient was admitted Monday to the hospital.
The patient, who was met outside ECMC's Emergency Department, had been in isolation since Monday and was discharged Friday, the hospital said.
Hospital staff who examined the patient used "all appropriate measures to avoid potential exposure to the virus," including personal protective gear, according to the ECMC news release.
