A 32-year-old Buffalo man is charged with second-degree murder in a fatal stabbing this week in a Town of Tonawanda apartment.
Clarence H. Simmons was arraigned on the charge Thursday evening in Tonawanda Town Court, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
Simmons is accused of stabbing a victim whose identity was not immediately released by the DA's office.
The stabbing took place in an apartment on Parkedge Avenue in the town and the victim's body was found Thursday.
Simmons is being held without bail and is scheduled to return for a felony hearing on April 17. He faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison if convicted on the charge.
Authorities have released few details about the case. Town police said they responded at 5:30 p.m. Thursday to a report of a suspicious death in a residence on Parkedge, but provided no further information.
