Tops offers seniors-only shopping hours

Starting Thursday, Tops will begin offering special shopping hours open solely to seniors ages 60 and older.

"In these uncertain times we at Tops Friendly Markets feel the need to address the concerns of our most vulnerable population," Kathy Sautter, spokesperson for Tops Markets, said Wednesday.

Tops, which joins a nationwide trend toward offering special shopping hours for older consumers, will open its doors from 6 to 7:30 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday, admitting seniors only during that time.

"Rest assured we will not be asking for identification as we trust the community will not abuse this privilege," Sautter said.

The grocer also urged seniors to use its curbside pickup and delivery option via Topsmarkets.com and Instacart.
