A Lancaster student was restrained by two police officers and arrested Wednesday morning outside the high school for allegedly possessing and attempting to sell drugs, confirmed Superintendent Michael J. Vallely.
The incident was reported shortly after 7:30 a.m. as students were arriving at the high school on Forton Drive, confirmed Lancaster Police Chief William J. Karn.
“It wasn’t just something that developed this morning. It was an ongoing investigation into the student’s activities,” Karn said. “When the school resource officer tried to talk to the student, the student was not initially cooperative and ran off."
The student will be charged as a juvenile in Family Court, Karn said.
